National Car Rental Mexico provides you with the Terms and Conditions governing car rentals. These Terms and Conditions supplement the adhesion contract under which rentals operate, which has been approved and registered by the Federal Consumer Protection Agency under registration numbers 997-2020, dated February 18, 2020, and 4401-2020, dated November 6, 2020. RENTAL REQUIREMENTS


To rent a vehicle from National Car Rental Mexico, the following original documents must be provided:

1. Official Identification
A valid official identification must be presented. Accepted forms include: Voter ID (IFE or INE) or Passport.

2. Driver’s License
A valid driver’s license must be presented at the time of rental andremain valid until the contract closure. The designated driver mustbe the license holder.

3. Minimum Age
RequirementThe renter must be at least 25 years old. If the renter is between 18 and 24 years old, an additional charge for a young driver will apply.

4. Credit and Debit Cards
All customers must present a valid credit card at the time of contract opening.
Accepted payment methods include VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit, debit, and digital cards. If payment is made on the website using a debit or digital card, a payment receipt must be presented. Debit or digital cards are not accepted as a security deposit since their validity cannot be verified

VEHICLE CATEGORY CLASSIFICATION


Vehicles are classified into categories according to the international standards set by the ACRIS organization. A specific vehicle make or model cannot be guaranteed.

RENTAL GUARANTEE


At the time of contract initiation, a credit card deposit is required, starting from $2,000 MXN or more, depending on the selected protection package and additional services.
  • Debit or virtual cards are not accepted as a security deposit but can be used for payment upon returning the vehicle.
  • Cash is not acceptedas a security deposit at any National Car Rental Mexico location.
  • Bank transfers and deposits are accepted as an advance payment before contract closure.

    The deposit amount is minimized when Full Protection is purchased, which includes Deductible Protection (DP). If Material Damage Protection (CDW) is not acquired, the minimum rental security deposit will be $10,000 MXN ($500 USD).

    Types of Protection

  • Limited Third-Party Liability Protection (LTPL): Covers up to $750,000 MXN per incident.
  • Third-Party Liability Protection (TPL): Covers up to $4,000,000 MXN per incident (Mandatory by law in Mexico).
  • Material Damage and Total Theft Protection (CDW-TP): Covers collision, glass breakage, vandalism, and total theft, with a 10% deductible.
  • Tire and Glass Protection (TWP): Covers damage to tires and glass, with a 20% deductible.
  • Deductible Waiver Protection (DP): Eliminates the deductible for Material Damage (CDW) but not for Total Theft (TP).
  • Medical Expense Protection (PAI): Covers medical expenses up to $400,000 MXN per incident.
  • Roadside Assistance (RSA): Covers mechanical failures, fuel assistance, locksmith services, flat tires, and battery jump-starts within a 40 km radius of the nearest rental location.

    • Protection Packages

  • National Car Rental Protection Package: Includes TPL, CDW, TP, PAI, DP,TWP, and RSA.
  • Full Protection: Includes TPL, CDW, TP, PAI, DP, and RSA.
  • Basic Protection: Includes TPL, CDW, and TP.
  • Limited Protection: Includes TPL only.

    • GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ALL PROTECTIONS


    Coverage is invalidated under the following conditions:
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Driving on unpaved or non-transitable roads.
  • If the driver is not registered in the contract.
  • If the driver flees the accident scene.
  • Speeding violations.
  • Using the vehicle as a taxi, in races, endurance tests, competitions, or exhibitions.

    • Protections do not cover:
  • Damage to the drivetrain or undercarriage.
  • Interior vehicle damage.
  • Flat tires unrelated to normal use.
  • Auto parts theft.
  • Traffic fines, towing, or impound fees.
  • Vehicles crossing the southern border of Mexico.

    • PAYMENT & RESERVATIONS


    Prepaid Reservations:
  • The credit card used for payment must be presented in person at contract opening.
  • If a travel agency or authorized intermediary has processed the payment, the renter must still provide a personal credit card for security deposit and meet all rental requirements.
  • Prepaid reservations are non-refundable and non-changeable in discounted rates.

    • Cancellation & No-Show Policy:
  • Free cancellation within 5 days of booking, provided the rental start date is more than 5 days away.
  • 72+ hours before pickup: 10% cancellation fee.
  • Less than 72 hours before pickup: 20% cancellation fee.
  • Same-day cancellation or no-show: 50% cancellation fee.
  • Refunds are processed within 48 business hours.

    • LATE RETURN FEES


  • If an extension is needed, notify the rental office in advance. A new contract must be opened, and rates may change.
  • Unnotified late returns will be charged at the current public rate

    • ADDITIONAL SERVICES


  • Prepaid Fuel Service: Avoid refueling before return. Unused fuel is non-refundable.
  • Child Seats: $104.40 MXN per day.
  • Mobile Device Rental: $255.2 MXN per day.
  • Chauffeur Service: Costs vary. Call 800-716-6625 (Mexico) or 1-877-567-3572 (USA).
  • Additional Driver: $104.40 MXN per day per driver (Drivers must meet age and license requirements).
